Abstract

Oxygen, a necessary element for the life of a cell is also the source of active state of oxygen including free radicals, which can induced damage to cellular DNA. The damage can result in deleterious biological consequences such as the initiation and promotion of cancer. In this paper the characterization of the DNA damage and molecular mechanisms causing this damage is presented.
