Abstract

The paper presents the chemical structure of LPS and its KDO-lipid A region in particular, as well as some aspects of heterogenicity, antigenicity, immunogenicity and biosynthesis of lipid A. The new data concerning structure-biological activity relationships, studied by means of synthetic antigens-partial structures of LPS, are also discussed.
