Abstract
Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) belongs to the family of herpesviruses. EBV is ubiquitous, with high antibody-positive prevalence (up to 90%) in the adult population. Clinical manifestations of EBV infection range from subclinical seroconversion to the syndrome of infectious mononucleosis. The reported manifestations of EBV infection may affect all tissues of the eye. We reviewed the ophthalmic manifestations in Epstein-Barr virus infection, concentrating on clinical features and laboratory diagnosis.
